Abbey Hotel, Battle

We pride ourselves on providing a top-class experience for great value

Here's what some of our customers have had to say!

This hotel is a real find. The staff were charming, efficient (because of the eagle - eyed but extremely pleasant manager) and super - friendly. The wine list is good and reasonably priced. I couldn't get through the gin selection in one evening! The food (evening menu) was excellent and there was a good choice. The room (abbey view) was small but well equipped and spotless.Breakfast was very good - again, a good selection, generous portions and very well presented. If you are this way, you might like to try their afternoon tea which looks very inviting or if cocktails do it for you, there is a cocktail menu. I couldn't fault this as a B&B in a pub and will not hesitate to return.

Had an amazing lunch pie......hubby had fishcakes. Bit of a wait for food but I am always more than happy with that as you can be assured it's all freshly prepared. Staff friendly and attentive........unfortunately we were too full for a pudding so we'll just have to visit again VERY SOON.......looking forward to seeing you soon

My husband and I spent a fabulous night at this fabulous hotel. We were greeted by a lovely young lady Macy who showed us to our amazing room with a view of the Abbey (room1). The room was immaculate, with a complimentary bottle of water and tea and coffee facilities. The bathroom had plenty of towels along with hand soap and body lotion. The hotel has been completely renovated, The decor is classy, with a cosy and homely feel Before dinner we sat at the bar and Manager Lauren made us an amazing Aperol spritz the best my husband has ever tasted. We had a wonderful reception from Charlie, he was very attentive, and extremely informative on our menu choice Our food was amazing! I had the salmon, and my husband chose the Christmas pie. We had a fabulous nights sleep, in a very comfortable bed. Breakfast was fabulous Charlie was on hand again to assist with our choice, the African yogurt is a must, as is the eggs benedict, and eggs royal. We have travelled all over the world, but this is one of the friendliest hotels we have ever stayed in. If you are visiting Battle you must make this hotel your first choice.

We strolled in at midday on Sunday, looking for lunch. We struck lucky. The 3 of us ordered Sunday lunch. I had lamb, husband and daughter had chicken. I can honestly say it was the best Sunday roast I have ever eaten outside my own kitchen. We ordered the medium and I couldn't finish it all. Spuds done to perfection, roast parsnips, home made giant Yorkshire masses of veg and gravy. Nice cosy atmosphere, friendly staff and nice kids and dogs welcome.

Bublé night on Saturday went down a storm with our wives and I enjoyed it too! Even got me dancing which is extremely rare! Good food and lovely atmosphere made it a perfect evening.
